Outreach
Though our life together demands the commitment of each individual, we are not interested in building up community just for ourselves. It is in this sense that we have participated over many years in movements for education, justice and peace. In the 1930s-40s we took in war refugees; in the 1950s, 60s, and 70s we marched against war overseas and racism in our own backyard.
Through Church Communities Foundation, a public charity, we have participated in jail and prison inmate rehabilitation programs, supported the abolishment of the death penalty, conducted urban renewal projects in inner-city communities, and initiated humanitarian aid missions to Africa, Central America, the Middle East, India, Asia and elsewhere.next >>
